I can't believe she is 73 holy shite! WOW! No excuses. Cookbook pulped after recipe calls for 'salt and black people'SYDNEY (AFP) – It's a tiny misprint, but an Australian publisher has had to pulp a cookbook after one recipe called for "salt and freshly ground black people" to be added to the dish. Penguin Group Australia pulped and reprinted about 7,000 copies of "Pasta Bible" after the typographical error was found in the ingredients for spelt tagliatelle with sardines and prosciutto, The Sydney Morning Herald reported Saturday. "We're mortified that this has become an issue of any kind, and why anyone would be offended, we don't know," head of publishing Bob Sessions was quoted as saying. Penguin said almost every one of the more than 150 recipes in the book called for salt and freshly ground black pepper but a misprint occurred on just one page, probably as a result of a computer's spellchecker programme. "When it comes to the proofreader, of course they should have picked it up, but proofreading a cookbook is an extremely difficult task. I find that quite forgivable," Sessions said. He said it would be extremely hard to recall the stock but if anyone complained about the "silly mistake" they would be given the new version. news.yahoo.com/s/afp/australiabookcookingoffbeat;_ylt=AsZLqqSHiBWAficUkbMc2pgjr7sF;_ylu=X3oDMTMyc3NpcjM0BGFzc2V0A2FmcC8yMDEwMDQyMC9hdXN0cmFsaWFib29rY29va2luZ29mZmJlYXQEcG9zAzYEc2VjA3luX3BhZ2luYXRlX3N1bW1hcnlfbGlzdARzbGsDY29va2Jvb2twdWxw

Everyone knows freshly ground is better. 'Hot' substance in chilli peppers key to killing painStudying chilli peppers is helping scientists create a new type of painkiller which could stop pain at its source. A team at the University of Texas says a substance similar to capsaicin, which makes chilli peppers hot, is found in the human body at sites of pain. And blocking the production of this substance can stop chronic pain, the team found. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8644788.stm

Escaped circus elephant squats in Italian gardenROME (AFP) – Residents of an Italian village were surprised to find an elephant relaxing in their garden on Tuesday after she escaped from a travelling circus, the ANSA news agency reported. The elephant, named Dumbo and weighing around three-and-a-half tonnes, took a walk from her cage shortly after the Armando Orfei circus arrived in the village of Bassano, around 100 kilometres (65 miles) north of Rome. The 40-year-old pachyderm walked a few hundred metres (yards) into a house garden, where a dog gave the alert and prompted the owners to call the fire brigade. But Dumbo's tamer, Lino Orfei, had already noticed the beast was missing and promptly arrived to take the hapless animal back to the circus. www.mindfood.com/at-2884228-escaped-circus-elephant-squats-in-garden.seopoor thing

since we're on elephants. The 18-year-old African Elephant got behind and pushed the car out of trouble and out of the enclosure. She even cleaned the car in the process. Five reached into a bucket of water with her trunk, sprayed the vehicle with water to remove any dust, then gathered up a sponge with her trunk and cleaned the windows and paintwork with the style of a true professional. Director of Wildlife, Bob Lawrence, said: "The jeep broke down one morning and the lads jumped out to have a look at it, popped the bonnet and had a look at the oil. "We still couldn't get it to start so gave it a push start, eventually got it going - at this time though its covered with dirty hand marks so Five gave it a quick wash and a hose down. "But the jeep broke down again and to our astonishment Five came over and decided to give us a hand. "She lifted the bonnet up, got the dipstick, and gave it to Lawrence. When we still couldn't get it to start, she went round the back and gave us a push. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/7636466/Elephant-provides-breakdown-assistance-to-zoo-keeper.html
