- WTF? The kid didn’t look like that when the cop first stopped the car, did he? I swear he didn’t.
- “I’m learning to appreciate cowardice.” Nice one, Walter.
- Walter talking about Deliverance. That was awesome.
- “I saw him change in front of me, suddenly he was hideous.” I guess that answers my question.
- This is weird, like a cross between The Village and Stepford Wives. Sometimes this show has a real Twilight Zone vibe.
- Crash.
- “Peter, it’s a butterfly!” Walter needs to take his Adderall.
- “We may have found a creature with metamorphic ability.” Isn’t that kind of par for the course with Fringe?
- That’s really the first time Peter killed somebody? I guess I kind of took his bad-ass self-outlook for granted.
- Astrid has an actual fear of moths? That’s just weird.
- That sheriff is sketchy.
- Walter loves his junk food.
- Called it with the sheriff. I’m getting a major Stephen King vibe here.
- Whoa. Moth-to-butterfly transformation was cool. And the explanation was even more cool.
- Walter was friends with Arthur C. Clarke, apparently.
- It’s nice to see Astrid getting more screen time.
- Wow, that kids really bad at Operation.
- That was…anti-climactic. "Stop!" "No"
::plot exposition::
- Some of these side stories, though they’re fun and interesting…I don’t get why Walter always has to have some kind of involvement. The stuff that’s unrelated to The Pattern or to the parallel-earth invaders really doesn’t require that Walter be involved, yet the writers keep writing in his history with all these happenings. Sometimes it feels kind of cheap, like too many unnecessary coincidences.
- Next week looks awesome, but it’s another monster-of-the-week episode. Being on Fox and almost constantly at-risk for cancellation, you’d think we’d see more episodes dealing with the overall series mythology. Right now they’re playing it like they don’t have to worry about ratings, which is unfortunately not the case.
