I have not yet watched the finale, so I have not read anything in the thread to avoid any spoilers, but it's in my Hulu queue. I've enjoyed the season and the alternate universe stuff.
I'm still curious about the Observers and who/what they are and where they come from. I liked when Peter was tripping and he was staring at Broyles' head and said "You're bald. I think he's an Observer."

I would not be surprised to find that it was not Walter saving Peter that created the rift but something the Baldies set in motion.

I'll actually try to keep this from having spoilers, but I wanted to be considerate to anyone who read without watching the finale. After watching the finale I have a feeling that the observers are 'survivors' (if you've watched, you should know what I mean), but I agree that they're trying to save/protect themselves. I almost wonder if the two universes were 'created' by something that they did by meddling. I like how time travel was handled in this particular case, since it was mostly a flash forward/cautionary tale approach. I wanted to see the Walters throw down though. "YOU STOLE MY SON!" "YOU TRIED TO STEAL HIM BACK!" :: wrestling Walters :: :: girly scientist slap-fight ::

"I almost wonder if the two universes were 'created' by something that they did by meddling."
hmmm.
Walternate is adamant that Walter created the whole mess, and Walter buys into it and his guilt has been a constant from the first time wee see him. I would bet the missing parts of Walters brain tie into what is happening.
Gotta watch the episode tonight. It's funny, the spoilers don't seem to have the same kind of impact as they did in Lost.

What a great season five premiere of Fringe. Sadly we only have twelve more to enjoy before it heads to syndication heaven in the sky. What you think of the episode? Any thoughts on the title ? "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11"

I had kind of forgotten what was going on, but I thought the episode was pretty well written. I have a feeling that there's something 'sinister' going on with the daughter from the foreshadowing with the bullet necklace, and the scene at the end with Walter was excellent. John Noble is a tremendous actor.
I have the first 2 seasons on DVD, but I haven't watched any old episodes yet, since I've got so much other stuff going on, but to quote the Starks, "Winter is coming" so there'll be time for that yet.

Another great episode. Can't believe that there is only eleven episodes left, then Fringe is no more.
