Finally got around to watching it -- great all-around episode. Like Buddha said, it was a good season opener. It handled a reintroduction of the characters and plot points and a slight recap of previous events, had good A and B stories and ratcheted up the freak-o-meter right out of the gate. I like that Peter is taking more control over his involvement with Fringe Division. The new girl was decent -- not enough for me to judge her character yet but she seemed to slide right into place after the initial scene with her and Peter before Olivia decided to crash the party (through the car windshield, which was awesome). There's were a few good edits that made me jump (and that one scary scene with Broyles and Nina Sharp kissing -- wtf?). The shapeshifter idea was well played. I like that it wasn't the standard "morphing" shifting that so many sci-fi shows/films tend to use. Fringe manages to be creative and fresh even when treading familiar sci-fi territory. All in all a good episode -- not great, but it got me excited for the things to come.

Mmmm, it's like rock candy, but it's people. I thought it was pretty cool that he put him back together though, that's a pretty hard-core jigsaw puzzle.

It was cool as hell, too. Not much mythology, but it was still a great episode. Another one that really reminded me of The X-Files.
