seems like magnus would have had to turn the FDW to get off [huh huh] and end up in madagasgar or whatever. well, no... he cold have sailed there I suppose. how accurate was their navigation in the 1600s? could they even maintain a steady heading in an old ship like that? I wonder. I wonder. I wonder. and keep on wondering.

you might be on to something with the FDW and the log/diary. Like Widmore now has a piece of information that'll turn everything on its ear. or something.
I hope that bit of story comes around again.
I like the idea that Widmore is in cahoots with MIBacon

well, if you remember back to Miles flashback, that meathead dude told him he was working for the wrong side while being recruited by Widmore. So since meathead was a Jacobian, one would think Widmore is transparently a Smoker.
