Happy November 1st to all. I've heard it is good luck that the first words you should say on the first is Rabbit, Rabbit. So here I go....Rabbit Rabbit.

Something about yesterday feels incomplete. I think it's because I didn't get to hear "Thriller" or "The Monster Mash" at all.

You are right, Foxy! At the costume party the other night, the DJ played Thriller but I kept waiting on Monster Mash...guess I should've requested it.

No power still, ETA on restore is next Wednesday. Power at work, but little or no gas available. They're stationing police to manage the lines and keep people from rioting. Stupid b!tches, wait until the zombies come. All of these mindless douchemonkeys will be corpse food.

That's terrible. I don't know what's worse, 100* and no electricity and water or 50*. I know we've gone over a week without before too...it sucks. I also remember having to put my car in the shop right after the pumps were back up and running because all the flooding seeped into the tanks and when I was finally able to get gas, it was a mixture of gas and water and messed up my car.
At least you get to work :-\

I can only get to work until the gas runs out. We already have no more for the generator, and it's going down to freezing on the weekend.
If the ETA on restoration is right, it will be more than a week without power. We've been out since last Monday, but at least there's no boat in my living room, or someone else's living room in the living room.

Glad you are hanging in there Buddha. And please stay away from the zombies. I bet they'd be all over a nice piece of meat like you.

The gas situation is getting better, but still no power. Hopefully within the next couple of days.
And I'm behind on my Walking Dead episodes now because well, no power, no cable=NO ZOMBIES and whiny survivors that you kind of hope will die anyhow.
In other news, I saw Cloud Atlas over the weekend and while I liked it alright, I think that if I had read the book I would have been very unhappy with it. The Wachowski brothers aren't very good directors, IMO. There were some serious "sledgehammer" moments that were completely unnecessary on top of other stuff that was just cheesy and amateurish.
And one of the best scenes (at least from a gratuitous violence standpoint) also contained one of the worst accents I have ever heard (yes, Tom Hanks has officially beat Kevin Costner as Robin Hood and Leonardo DiCaprio as a South African for worst accent).
That being said, I would like to read the book since I enjoyed the story despite what I saw as its cinematic shortcomings.

I watched Hanks on Jimmy the other night and they showed the picture stills of the 6 characters he plays. One of them straight up looked like Goldmember from Austin Powers and it turned me off right there.
Man, I just want a solid Tom Hanks movie again to enjoy. Is that so much to ask!?
