I'm changing my mind, I might wait for the River to get excited about a new show. This seems like a weekly crime series....ugh. I did notice that when they were in the kids room a drawing of a shark was in the background? Ode to LOST? I liked the coroner or whoever the weird dude was with the smokes and record player at the end.

It's a crime shwo with an evil twist.
Why, for example, is that other convict alway in the Infirmary every time one of the other cons goes there? And he certainly doesn't look all that sickly. So does the Dectective's grandad have some sort of weird illness? Is he behind or deeply involved in the whole timeskip thing?
And so, now we know that Doc Soto was kidnapped, and possible molested as a child. Were we supposed to think Polar Bear Comic Book with all of the other comics floating around in the epi?

I'm thinking the blood that they were drawing from the inmates, in particular Madsen, has something to do with the longevity/disappearance.

Ok, I'm completely on board with this show. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses. It was interesting to me that Jack, it seems, was the only one to "reappear" back actually in Alcatraz. And so far, Jack was the only one who seems that he was on a mission from whoever sent him back. Cobb and the child killer just sort of picked up where they left off of their respective crime sprees. With the exception of maybe Cobb's shooting of Lucy...not sure if that was intentional or not...like if she was the actual target...because if she is a "mole" why would he hurt her...ohhhhhhhh I love talking like this about a show again! And I am really glad that I get to hear BAD ROBOT again

I am thinking that Sylvane's appearance in a cell at Alcatraz was primarily a plot device for the pilot to make the connection that hey, these guys were at Alcatraz and now they are back, especially since they didn't show it with the other guys.
I also think that it might be like some X-Files stories where some will be mythology stuff and others will be stand alone people/crimes, but that's based upon the fact that they killed off Nelson and didn't seem to have him do anything involving a conspiracy.
My questions are how is Hauser connected to Lucy and the Doc, since they have not aged but he has? Where are the '63s? Does Madsen's blood have something to do with it, since they took so much of it back on old Alcatraz?

You don't think the Doctor has aged? I think he has..maybe just didn't do any make up really. Or..maybe your'e right, maybe the doctor hasn't aged either...either way, he should recognize Lucy...wait, so should Hoswer...holy monkey I just confused myself!!! Lucy and the Doc should have went to the same place all the 63's did...what's up with that madness? ?? And my other question is I wonder if the guards are going to start coming back. We've had some of the fugitives arrive...did the guards go to the same place?

I think the doc looks bit older, but not much...and there is a 40 year span...he was already in his 40s-50s in 63 by the looks of it, so he certainly isn't in his 90s now.
He was the one collecting the blood, so it stands to reason that he is "in on it"
Hauser was one of the original guards....that came out in the first episode. Since all of this operation is hush hush I am not sure other guards will appear. Not young, anyway. I think what we have here are two sides of the law, and the good guy side aged, while the bad guy side hasn't.

Hmmm, but that means the bad doctor from Alcatraz and Lucy were bad guys and Hauser was a good guy? From his treatment of Sylvane I don't think he's a completely good guy, but that stands to reason from a JJ story, he likes having conflicted heroes.
They made a big deal in the secret Bat Cave under Alcatraz of having the info and pictures of the missing guards too, so I do think that some of them are going to be coming back, but I'm not sure in what type of capacity. Maybe they are in on the conspiracy involving Flynn and the special key as well?

I'll keep trying. Shall we bring back the Einstein time/space thing? lol I remember hashing that one for awhile. And I do enjoy the "Bad Robot" thing too!
